ARGUS Launches Website for SADD

Since August 2007, ARGUS has worked in partnership with Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) to develop and execute the social marketing component of a pilot campus-based substance-abuse intervention program.

After immersion and discovery into the marketing landscape and target audience, ARGUS developed a social marketing campaign, Buzzcheck, an interactive web-based video series housed on www.buzzcheck.com. The website features short testimonials from actual teens who gained valuable insight from past experiences and decisions made regarding alcohol consumption. Each story captures a different perspective on decision-making and social consequences.

In addition, the website includes a microsite, Alternalife, providing interactive opportunities to explore positive modeling around social pressure, as well as resources and links to other appropriate websites.

To pique interest and drive regular traffic to the website, the website launch included on-the-ground guerilla marketing materials emblazoned with the campaign URL and strategically dropped in two pilot school campuses.

The campaign will launch statewide in January 2010.
