YWCA Boston announces 2006 Academy of Women Achievers Bay State Banner in the YWCA Boston’s 12th annual Women’s Leadership Event. 


Established in 1995, the YWCA Boston’s Academy of Women Achievers (AWA) celebrates women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in their professional and civic lives.  “We now have over 100 members in the Academy of Women Achievers,” said Marti Wilson-Taylor, President of YWCA Boston. “Each of these women is an amazing role model for all the young women and girls in our community, and we are very proud to honor the 2006 inductees for their embodiment of the YWCA’s mission to empower women.” 


The class of 2006 includes Zamawa Arenas, principal and client relations director of ARGUS Communications; Robin Chase, founder and CEO of Meador Networks and founder/ former Chairman and CEO of Zipcar; Dr. Linda Clayton M.P.H., associate medical director, Office of Medicaid/ MassHealth; Arlene Fortunato, founder of Fortunato & Associates; Lisa Guscott, president and CEO, Long Bay Management; Deborah Jackson, CEO, American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay; Stacey Lucchino, vice-chairman of the board of the YMCA of Greater Boston, Klare Shaw, senior advisor for education, arts and culture at the Barr Foundation; Nan Stone, partner in the Boston office of the Bridgespan Group and Brigid Sullivan, WGBH’s Vice President for Children’s Educational and Interactive Programming.
