ARGUS Ranks in the Top 100 Fastest-Growing Businesses in the U.S.
Makes the Inner City 100 List!

A joint project of Inc. magazine and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), the Inner City 100 list contains some of the fastest growing businesses in the country. According to ICIC the Inner City 100 is the most ambitious project in America to uncover and celebrate city entrepreneurship and business success. A total of 4,500 companies applied for the honor. 

Now in its eighth year, the list provides unmatched original data on the fastest growing businesses located in inner city areas. The 2006 Inner City 100 winners recorded a 655-percent average standard growth rate in the period 2000-2004. Aggregate 2004 revenues were $31 million. These companies created more than 10,000 new jobs between 2000 and 2004. Collectively, they employ more than 17,000 workers, 34 percent of whom live in inner city neighborhoods. Moreover, 99 percent of Inner City 100 companies provide health plans for employees, and 77 percent of the companies offer a bonus incentive plan. Eighty-two percent of the CEOs hold bachelors degrees, while 34 percent hold graduate degrees.  The list and the rank of each company were unveiled at the Awards Dinner held in Boston on April 19, 2006. The annual event is attended by civic leaders and sponsors from across the country.
